Christina Milian Lets ‘Turned Up’ Viewers In on Lil Wayne Break Up

Lil-Wayne-Christina-Milian*Break ups are known to take an emotional toll on many couples, but Christina Milian has no problem watching it all play out, literally, on her reality show “Turned Up.”

Chatting with toofab, the singer explained how beneficial it was to relive the split with her ex-boyfriend Lil Wayne on the small screen for all viewers to see and feel her pain.

“Reliving it and watching it, it feels like it was just yesterday,” Milian said after the episode featuring her breakup aired Tuesday night (Nov. 10). “Relationships go through many stages. I’m proud of us for having faith and being good people. I think that’s the biggest part, my family, we try to remain being good people and are ready for the punches.”

Milian’s comments come after the reason behind the end of her relationship with Lil Wayne was made known on “Turned Up.” During Tuesday’s episode, the vocalist confronted Wayne over an Instagram photo she found of another woman in her underwear inside the Young Money rapper’s home.

Although Lil Wayne denied anything went down with the other woman, it didn’t prevent the breakup from happening.

“I’ve never loved anyone the way that I love Wayne, not even my ex-husband,” Milian said in a confessional on the show. “I’ve never loved anyone the way that I love him. I’ve never had anyone understand me the way that he has.”

Although a scene like that would’ve been hard to watch, the entertainer said that there are no regrets on her part for wearing her heart on her sleeve on national TV.

“I’m really proud of what we’ve shown,” she shared with toofab. “It’s good TV, it’s real TV, it’s sisters and family and what love is. There’s nothing I would take back from anything on this season.”

“We’ve been through all kinds of things in life,” Milian adds. “It’s not even necessarily entertainment, you’re just hoping somebody is relating to it and they understand whatever it is that we were all going through. It’s very real. I’m proud of us for keeping it real this season. We just want to live our lives, but with cameras there.”

Milian credits her sisters for helping her move forward, telling the site, “Even when you’re crying, we can make each other laugh. It’s important.”

“Sometimes you just need somebody there, not even as a distraction but to let you know everything’s going to be O.K. and you can keep moving on.”

Since the split, Milian has kept herself busy with various endeavors, including opening a new clothing store and starring on the new John Stamos sitcom “Grandfathered.” Musically speaking, Milian is gearing up to drop new music amid shooting the music video for the Lil Wayne-assisted song “Do It” about a month after they called it quits.

According to the vocalist, fans will see the video sometime next month as well as her new EP “For You,” which is set for a Dec. 4 release.
