*Madonna’s concert in Berlin on Friday will have a very special opening act.
The Material Girl said that actor-DJ Idris Elba will open the first of her two weekend shows at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Driis, Elba’s DJ name, joins Madonna as she continues the European swing of her Rebel Heart world tour. Elba was a musician before breaking out as Stringer Bell on HBO’s “The Wire” and going to star on “Luther” and in such features as “Prometheus,” “Pacific Rim” and the current “Beasts Of No Nation.”
Last year, he recorded “Mi Mandela,” an album of South African music as a companion to the biopic “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom” in which he starred as Nelson Mandela, and he played DJ shows at recent festivals including Glastonbury, Snowbombing and Ibiza Rocks.
