*Could Mathew Knowles be headed to jail?
That’s the question as the mother of his 5-year-old son gets him back in court regarding his failure to pay child support.
Chatting recently with “Crime Watch Daily,” Alexsandra Wright addressed the contempt of court charges filed against Knowles. According to Wright, Knowles owes her more than $40,000 in back child support for their son Nixon.
“This could potentially be jail time if he doesn’t make it right,” she said while pointing out that Knowles has been served with a court summons. “[…] Do the right thing.”
Wright’s interview with “Crime Watch Daily” is the latest development in a long-running battle her and Knowles have been engaged in regarding child support. Since
since 2010.
Last year, Wright was awarded nearly $2,500 a month, far from the $12,000 per month Knowles was originally ordered to pay her when he was managing his daughter Beyoncé. For Wright, the issue of whether Knowles decides to pay her has more to do with her son than anything else.
“All I wanted was for my son … whether I’m on this planet, whether Mathew ever turns around and does the right thing or not … to know that he matters and he counts.,” she said.
