*Safaree Samuels is dishing to young male millennials on how to date a strong-willed woman like Nicki Minaj, and in a new interview with Ebony magazine, the former hype man-turned rapper-turned author says the main requirement is to be a “submissive.”
In the article titled, “Safaree Samuels on How to Date a Strong-Willed Woman,” Nicki’s ex says, “For me, support comes naturally. So if I have a ‘connect’ or can make a phone call to help someone out, I will in a heartbeat,” said Samuels, who dated Minaj for nearly 12 years before they called it quits last year. “The same gesture applies to whoever I’m dating. Growing up, I wanted to be an MC. But I put my dreams aside to play the role of the supportive boyfriend.”
He continued, “To be a submissive man, you have to have a submissive bone in your body,” Samuels explained. “The relationship isn’t going to work out for the man who has a short fuse or can’t handle being told what to do. A lot of men look for women they can mold into what will fit into their lives, but you can’t do that with a strong-minded woman. If you’re going to be with her, you have to be okay with her running the show at times.”
Samuels, who referred to black women as “nappy-headed” and “monkeys” on Nicki’s “Did It On ‘Em” track, tells the publication that he’s writing a tell-all book, which we doubt will ever see the light of day if he plans to spill too much tea about Meek’s girl. We suspect her lawyers are on standby to shut it down. Stay tuned.
“Fyi i might as well tell yall now but i am writing a book and have been the past month. Thank you Ms.pie,” Samuels wrote on Instagram.
It was previously reported that Safaree filed a lawsuit against Minaj for profits he feels are due to him for ghostwriting cuts on her albums, “The Pinkprint, Pink Friday,” and “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.” He also wants to be paid for his contributions to her singles, “Only,” “Flawless (Remix)” with Beyoncé and “Feeling Myself,” Hip Hollywood reports.
