*There’s no question that folks were surprised when Holly Holm gave Ronda Rousey her first loss after dominating the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champ in their highly anticipated on Saturday (Nov.14).
While many went and poked fun at and got their two cents in on Rousey via various memes and comments, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was not among the haters. According to Vibe, the now-retired undefeated boxing champ took a different path in weighing in on Rousey’s less than stellar moment, even though Rousey has taken repeated jabs at Mayweather.
“Just in boxing period, contact sports period, you win some, you lose some,” Mayweather told MLive Sunday (Nov. 15) at Staples Center during the Lakers-Pistons game. “I don’t know about this fight, I just know that you win some and you lose some. It basically comes with the territory.”
Checking in on Instagram, Rousey herself took time out on Sunday to acknowledge those who are still in her corner while revealing that she is going to take some time off following the bout.
“I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support,” Rousey wrote. “I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I’m fine. As I had mentioned before, I’m going to take a little bit of time, but I’ll be back,” she wrote.
Despite Mayweather keeping silent on social media about Rousey, 50 Cent figured he would be the athlete’s voice. In the rapper’s eyes, he was doing Mayweather’s “dirty work” with some thoughts he put with a meme of Rousey’s bloodied face.
