*Morris Chestnut joked in August about his job security at “Rosewood,” telling TV critics that the show’s executive producer has Taye Diggs on speed dial ready to replace the actor if he ever gets out of line.
That option died on the vine this week, because Diggs’ is now established on the show as another character – infectious disease specialist Dr. Mike Boyce, the college friend of Chestnut’s Dr. Beaumont Rosewood.
Diggs said the friendship between the characters mirrors that of their close friendship off-camera.
“We go way back from ‘The Best Man’ movies, ‘Best Man,’ ‘Best Man Holiday,’ and hopefully, coming up in the future, ‘Best Man Wedding,’” Diggs said. “So it was great to get back under the lights with him. It’s a really, really great show. I was very impressed.”
