*Well now, this is different and innovative.

TicketNetwork, a major tech company out of South Windsor, Connecticut, is conducting hiring fairs and using African-American churches to find talent in an industry that is getting scrutiny for a lack of diversity.

Last week TicketNetwork and New Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Hartford, Connecticut, sponsored a hiring fair at the 46-year-old Hartford church to fill TicketNetwork job openings at its headquarters.

TicketNetwork is an online entertainment ticket outlet that matches buyers and sellers and the company is making it a priority to tap into a pool of talent that can be found in the congregations of Black churches.

“Churches can be a gold mine for companies trying to hire,” TicketNetwork CEO Don Vaccaro said. “We have hired some very good employees from previous job fairs, and hope to continue to do so in the future.”

The company said it has a wide, but unspecified number of full- and part-time job openings that include: call center representative/bilingual call center representative; order fulfillment specialist; full-time junior exchange associate; junior purchasing associate; housekeeper; executive support specialist; and loan intake specialist.

The Company will continue to recruit employees using traditional and non-traditional methods but the church fairs have proven to be valuable.
