Thomas Norman Charged with Double Stabbing at RZA’s Home

RZA PETA*New Jersey State Police announced Monday that 23-year-old Thomas Norman has been arrested in connection with a double stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning at the home of rapper RZA,, NJ.com reports. Norman was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon in relation to the incident that left two men with stab wounds.

While it’s still unclear why Norman targeted RZA’s home in the first place, State Troopers responded to a report of a stabbing at a Deer Trail Drive home at 1:18 a.m. on Saturday. When authorities arrived, they found two men with non-life threatening stab wounds. They men were flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

State Police confirmed that the home belongs to RZA (born Robert Fitzgerald Diggs), who was not home at the time of the incident. RZA, a founder of rap group Wu-Tang Clan, was with the group in Austin, Texas, playing the Fun Fun Fun festival.

Detectives were able to identify Norman as the suspect and he was arrested later that day for unrelated warrants, police said. He was taken jailed and being held on $120,000 bail with no 10-percent option.

While State Police have not released the name of the victims for “investigative purposes,” they are asking anyone with information to contact troopers at the Hamilton station at 609-594-5000 ext. 5286. We’re wondering who are they hoping will call in with info, the ghost of psychic Silvia Brown? After all, the victims haven’t been named, the original report fails to explain why Thomas was at the home, did he break in or was he an invited guest?

So many questions about this curiously random attack. Stay tuned.

So far, RZA has not responded to requests for comment.
