*Bradley Cooper appears to have taken over the remake of “A Star Is Born” from his “American Sniper” director Clint Eastwood.

As for recent reports that Beyonce is back in the project as his leading lady?

“Just a rumor,” Cooper told E!’s Marc Malkin at the premiere of his current film Joy. “But with that said, I would be honored obviously with to work with her in any capacity.”

Cooper, who was first linked to the film as the male lead in Eastwood’s shelved version of the project, is attached to the remake as star and director, as previously reported.

Beyonce was Eastwood’s original choice to take over the role played by Janet Gaynor in 1937, Judy Garland in 1954 and Barbra Streisand in 1976. But she had to bow out after becoming pregnant with Blue Ivy. Then Eastwood fled to direct the film version of Broadway’s “Jersey Boys.”
