*“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Sheree Whitfield has been building her gargantuan home outside of the city for the past four years, and now she can add a new lawsuit to the myriad of reasons for its delay.
The 45-year-old reality star has gotten into a legal situation with her contractor over the property, dubbed “Chateau Sheree” on the series. Court records show that Stoploss Specialists, Inc. filed a petition against Whitfield on Dec. 17, suing her for unpaid bills related to construction.
Stoploss — which bills itself as an “emergency response contractor” claims Whitfield owes them $15,450 in unpaid bills, but they are asking for a total of $23,000 to include late fees and other charges.
In the lawsuit, the company said Whitfield retained them on Dec. 17, 2014, “to supply equipment, labor and/or materials for the improvement,” but has yet to pay up.
Whitfield, who began construction on Chateau Sheree back in 2011, has said this season that she would soon be done with building her dream home.
IN 2013, OWN’s Iyanla Vanzant was dispatched to help Whitfield “fix her life.” Filming “Iyanla: Fix My Life” in front of the unfinished house, Vanzant suggested that it represented parts of her life that are also incomplete.
