*Chris Paul and Kevin Hart collaborated to touch the lives of 500 children for Christmas this year.  It was Tuesday, December 22,  just days before Christmas.

The duo personally accompanied five groups of 100 kids from L.A. organizations city wide for a shopping extravaganza called The Holiday TakeOver.  Each child was given a $100 gift certificate and let lose to shop with just one rule:

“You guys have to make me one promise; you have to get a gift for somebody else,” Chris Paul said.

Paul and Hart gave a talk, high-fived the kids  and starting at 9:30am Tuesday morning the shopping began. The team moved from  three Target locations; as was convenient for the organizations supported; Downtown, Fox Hills Malls and Van Nuys. The shopping lasted throughout the day while the duo spent up to three hours at each location helping the children to find gifts.

“I’m finally in a position where I can impact others and give back so me and Kev – we talk so often about  not only the fun things that we get an opportunity to do, but we talk about family, we talk about life and our kids, and making an impact on our community,” Paul said.

The organizations  supported in the ‘Holiday Takeover’ event  were LA’s Best, Watts Willowbrook B&G Club, Brotherhood Crusade and Westwood Transitional Village.

“It was humbling. Many of the kids got only gifts for others and didn’t buy anything for themselves. One kid purchased and air mattress for his mother. He wanted to get the bed because his mom didn’t have one.  He also bought knives and forks,” said Karen Lee the public relations associate for Paul and Hart.

Additionally, Lee told EURweb that Paul and Hart adopted a homeless family for Christmas granting them a $1000 gift certificate.

“Its about effecting as many house holds as you can and I think that giving affect is something that needs to be had more. When guys like this do it hopefully he leads and example for others,” Kevin Hart said.
