*It’s that time of year again.
Time to head out to the movies and forget about those holiday blues.
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are doing the best they can to ensure that happens with their new comedy “Daddy’s Home.”
The story follows a sensitive and thoughtful man (Ferrell) who is as happy as he has ever been when he realizes his blended family is beginning to mesh together.
But all that he has dreamt of is suddenly threatened when the children’s much cooler, tougher and handsomer Dad (Wahlberg) returns home from combat duty overseas.

What ensues is loads of hilarity and family friendly fun. The jokes are steady with occasional fits of foolishness resulting in explosive episodes of laughter. But it tugs at your heartstrings as well. I was in the building for the premiere screening of “Daddy’s Home” and had the camera rolling on the red carpet as well.
Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Bill Burr and most of the other stars were gracious and appreciative as they made the press rounds.
Unfortunately the word “most” is a disclaimer in this instance. Everyone but Hannibal Burress was within range of my camera. For whatever reason, the genius in charge of the red carpet for Paramount Pictures thought it was a good idea to skip me, under the flag of EURweb, and another African-American gentleman from Rolling Out.
Initially she limited us both to one question then, as he came closer, she decided she didn’t want him to speak to us at all. Yeah, real smart to not make the only Black star of the film unavailable to one of the only Black outlets on the entire carpet. Genius, I tell you.
“Daddy’s Home” is a very funny movie and Hannibal Burress is very funny in it. It opens December 25 in theaters nationwide.
