*The Catalina Jazz Club made history on November 12, 2015 having to turn away as many people as were admitted for two completely sold out shows of an evening with six time Grammy nominated artist KASHIF.

Any question as to whether KASHIF still has the goods was quickly dispelled as the standing room only crowd sang and danced their way through his first Los Angeles area performance in thirty years.

KASHIF’S iconic artistry is nothing less than a tapestry intricately woven into the fabric of our lives by way of his own creation of hits such as “Lover Turn Me On,” “Stone Love,” “Help Yourself To My Love,” Love Changes” and more. The performance quickly became star-studded when KASHIF was joined by longtime musical friends and luminaries such as Vanessa Williams, Howard Hewitt, and DJ Quick along with Howard Johnson and Evelyn Champagne King whose careers were catapulted by Kashif creations. Songbird and longtime KASHIF fan, Ledisi used her calming temperament and entertained fans waiting in a line that stretched around three city blocks proclaimed, “man, they must have forgotten it was Kashif performing! He should’ve been in a bigger venue!”

With the plethora of energy and interest garnered from his recent profile on TV One’s Unsung , KASHIF decided to return to touring. His European tour commences in January 2016 with domestic dates to follow. KASHIF says:

”The phones had been ringing off the hook even before the Unsung episode aired and I am happy to know there is a strong demand from promoters and my fans alike for me to return to performing.”

KASHIF has never faded from the music scene but spent a number of years behind the scenes working on a variety of projects such as writing a best-selling book, “Everything You’d Better Know About The Record Industry” which sold over 375,000 copies, teaching at UCLA, producing national commercials for the likes of Hyundai Motors and UPS, while continuing to write and produce for a variety of established artists.

Being a product of the foster care system motivated KASHIF to dedicate his personal time, talent and boundless energy to serve as a national advocate for youth in foster care. His efforts to raise public awareness about the foster care system resulted in his producing and directing a commercial campaign for the Los Angeles Department of Children & Family Services. He is also the founder and CEO of Kashif University, an education initiative providing a combined curriculum of music, art and academics for at risk youth.
KASHIF has also written and produced chart topping hits for a who’s who of the music industry including George Benson (Inside Love), Kenny G. (Hi, How Ya Doin’, Love On The Rise), Evelyn Champagne King (Love Come Down, I’m In Love), Dionne Warwick (Reservations For Two), Howard Johnson (So Fine) and the legendary Whitney Houston (You Give Good Love, Thinking About You).
