*Congratulations are in order for Kelis and Teyana Taylor, who both are proud new mothers.
E! News reports that Kelis welcomed a baby boy in November after news broke out about her expecting a second child in August.
“She is really excited about her pregnancy,” an insider shared with E! News at the time. “She has a great support system from her family and friends. She is in really amazing spirits.”
Although Kelis kept her pregnancy off the public radar, she did share how motherhood has changed her during a recent appearance at Los Angeles Women’s Expo in October.
“It enhances you. I don’t know if it really changes you,” the”Milkhake” singer and recent cookbook author explained. “I think it just enhances who you already are. It makes the things that you do make sense. You’re more poignant and more focused.”
As for how her new son is doing, an insider told E! News that the child is named Shepherd and is “healthy.” According to the news outlet, the identity of the father remains unknown.
“Kelis has a healthy baby,” the insider said, adding that Kelis is “thrilled.”
Meanwhile, for Taylor, it was her fiancé Iman Shumpert who brought their new baby in to the world on Wednesday (Dec. 16).
According to TMZ Sports, the Cleveland Cavs star delivered the child right in the couple’s home bathroom.
Chatting with the site, Taylor revealed that she had no idea she was in labor until she felt her child’s head making it’s way out of her around 6 a.m.
“It took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr. and she entered this world into his bare hands!”
Taylor went on to mention that Shumpert was on the phone with the emergency operator who walked him through the process. In addition, she says he used a pair of red headphones to tie the umbilical cord (since they didn’t have a medical grade clamp).
“She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried!” Taylor shared while expressing joy over her new arrival.
“She has blown Christmas away! Our family is complete. Her blueprint will be unmatched. Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you.”
