mike-sanders2*Michael Render, better known as Killer Mike, has been a fearless supporter of Bernie Sanders. Last month, he introduced Sanders at a campaign rally in Atlanta. He taped their one-hour conversation at his Atlanta barber shop, the Swag Shop, on Nov. 23, and he just uploaded the six-part chat on YouTube.

Mike’s unlikely friendship with the Democratic presidential hopeful has many talking, as he believes Sanders could beat frontrunner Hillary Clinton for the nomination.

“I rap, and I rap about a lot of the stuff that you rant about,” Render told the Vermont Senator.

He used the interview as a way for Sanders to present his ideas to the digital public, and they discussed everything from free college tuition, mass incarceration and declassifying marijuana.

“I’m a marijuana smoker,” Render said. “That is absolute bulls-.” Sanders agreed. Bernie also remarked on what socialism means to the black community.

“To be truly free, you need economic rights as well,” he said. “I think that in the richest country in the history of the world…we can do infinitely better in providing economic rights to our people.”

As the Chicago Tribune notes, they also ran through Sanders’ positions on single-payer health care and eliminating income inequality.

Last month, Killer Mike stood behind a podium inside Atlanta’s Fox Theater, in front of a crowd of more than 5,000 people, and announced Sanders as the next president of the United States, while at the same time reminding all that he doesn’t trust the government.

“I have said in many a rap, I don’t trust the church or the government, a Democrat, Republican, a pope, a bishop or those other men,” the rapper said. “But after spending five hours tonight, after spending five hours with someone who has spent the last 50 years radically fighting for your rights and mine, I can tell you that am very proud tonight to announce the next president of the United States, Sen. Bernie Sanders.”
