*Rapper King Louie, who is credited for creating the term “Chi-Raq” in 2009, was reportedly shot while in his vehicle in Chicago.

According to The Chicago Sun-Times, he was shot in the head in the city’s southwestern Ashburn neighborhood on Wednesday, and is now recovering.

The newspaper reports Louie — who’s real name is Louis Johnson Jr. — was shot in his vehicle around 3:30 p.m. local time.

While it is against Chicago police policy to disclose or confirm victims’ names, Billboard reports that police said a 27-year-old male was shot in his vehicle at that location at that time and brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition.

A representative from Louie’s management told the Sun-Times he was “awake and talking” following the incident.

Louie is credited for coining the term “Chi-Raq” in 2009, as well as creating the term “Drillinois,” which plays off the trap hip-hop sub-genre “Drill,” prevalent in Chicago rap and popularized by Chief Keef, Lil Reese and others. Earlier this month he released a song called “F— Spike Lee” on the same day the director’s Chi-Raq film premiered in theaters.
