*Remember that drug charge that Nelly was facing? Well, now he doesn’t have to worry about it.

On Friday the issue was settled in a court proceeding that outlined the rapper’s charge of felony possession of drugs and paraphernalia, and simple possession of marijuana after his tour bus was pulled over and searched in Tennessee in April.

Nelly (real name: Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr.) plead guilty to the charge of drug possession which resulted in him getting a probation sentence which will be carried out over the course of 11 months and 29 days, according to NewsChannel5 .

“This is exactly what we were hoping for, and I think it was a very fair disposition. I have no doubt whatsoever that after this year’s time … after the diversionary program is completed, there’ll be nothing on Mr. Haynes’ record,” according to Nelly’s attorney, Scott Rosemblum.

Putnam County District Attorney, Bryant Dunaway made this statement on the proceedings:

“After we investigated the case fully and sent that substance to the Tennessee Crime Lab, it was discovered that it was not methamphetamine, and in fact the maximum charge that [Nelly] was guilty of were class A misdemeanors.”

“I think exactly what happened is exactly what we thought would happen, and Tennessee is a great place and I love it.”
