Omarosa Explains Relationship with Trump Amid His Bid for Presidency

Omarosa-Donald-Trump

*Donald Trump may not have overwhelming support from the black community, but he can count on his friend and former “Celebrity Apprentice” competitor Omarosa Manigault to be in his corner.

The former reality TV spoke about her relationship with Trump and his bid to become president during an appearance on “Steve Harvey.”  In Manigault’s eyes, Trump is “a mentor” as well as “a father.”

“We have a long history. Donald and I started out in 2003 with The Apprentice, and I’m proud to be a part of that franchise,” she told host Steve Harvey. “In terms of him running for president, it’s something that he wanted to do, it’s a dream. And I’m a very loyal person. I know him as a friend, as a mentor, as a father. You all are getting to know him as a candidate. That’s the way you know him. I know him differently. And I will continue to be a friend to Donald Trump throughout this entire journey for him, and hopefully he gets exactly what he wants.”

Manigault’s comments come after she was among more than 100 black ministers who attended a meeting with Trump in New York City last week. According to reports, the more than 2 hour meeting resulted in some of the religious leaders endorsing the GOP frontrunner for president.

Upon hearing Manigualt’s view of Trump, Harvey mentioned that he would throw his hat in to a future presidential race if the real estate mogul wins in 2016.

“I tell ya’ right now, in case you’re wondering where I stand on Donald Trump. I love his golf courses, I love his buildings, I like him as a guy,” he said. “If he becomes President of the United States, in eight years, I’m running.”

Manigault’s appearance on “Steve Harvey” will air today, Thursday (Dec. 10). To see a preview of the interview, check out the video below:
