Possible Rematch Between Ronda Rousey/Holly Holm Set for July 2016

Holm, Rousey*This writer is no fan of watching women beat each other into bloody, but when we heard news of Ronda Rousey losing the UFC women’s bantamweight title to Holly Holm, we laughed…loudly, and we’re still laughing about it!

After all, before the fight went down, Ronda was quite braggadocios about her skills and confident she could slay anyone, (her record certainly backed-up her authority), and all the fanboy blogs could write about was her epic Hollywood movie deal, where studio executives were ready to pump her up as if she’s been forged by the old gods and the new.

Holm’s earned Rousey’s undefeated title in the first round of UFC 193, when Ronda went down in the first round, and later suffered injuries that placed her on a six month medical suspension.

Since the losing the fight, Ronda has maintain a low profile. Humbled by the lost, perhaps?

Well, she’s slowly emerging back in the public eye and ready to take on Holm’s once more.

The ex-champ recently gave an in-depth interview with “ESPN The Magazine” in which she detailed the embarrassing defeat, and how she’s still reeling from the shock of it all. She told ESPN, “I just feel so embarrassed,” she said. “How I fought after that is such an embarrassing representation of myself. I wasn’t even f**king there.”

TMZ caught up with Rousey as she was leaving her California home for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball, and she expressed her desire for a rematch with Holm at UFC 200.

“It’s what I want,” Rousey said. “It’s up to the UFC, and it’s up to her camp. So, we’ll see what happens.”

It looks like a possible rematch might arrive next summer, according to UFC president Dana White’s interview with the Los Angeles Times, the dynamic athletes will reportedly take place on July 9 at UFC 200. However, Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, said they’re unsure about Rousey’s health come July. “I’m not sure Ronda will be ready for a July fight,” he said. “She took a severe beating and I don’t think it’s in her best interest to take the next fight so fast. They told me she’s been ready and cleared, but…”
