Prince, Jaden & Willow Smith, #BlackLivesMatter Make ‘Ebony Power 100’ List

*Ebony has revealed that Prince, siblings Jaden & Willow Smith, and the Black Lives Matter movement have been chosen for its Power 100 list, which recognizes influential black people within the fields of arts, politics, education, community activism, media, and medicine.

Prince and fellow honoree D’Angelo are also celebrated for their commitment to using music as a tool for political activism.

The Smith siblings, along with honorees Zendaya, Amandla Stenberg, “The Wiz Live!” star Shanice Williams and others, were chosen under the category, The Future of Everything. “Keep your eyes on these young high achievers who will be on the Power 100 list in years to come,” Ebony stated.

Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monàe are acknowledged for producing songs, “Alright” and “Hell You Talmbout,” respectively, that have been taken up by the Black Lives Matter and anti-police brutality movements. Similarly, honorees John Legend and J. Cole are being lauded for their philanthropic work devoted to the same movements and those in need.
