*Los Angeles, CA – Raise Em Up Records has done it again providing new original music for the highly anticipated romantic comedy, ‘Lucky Girl.’
The movie is executive produced by Jackie Christie and stars critically acclaimed actor, Columbus Short and the beautiful songstress and actress, LeToya Luckett. The movie will air on BET Networks and is scheduled for a January 5, 2016 DVD release.
The cast of Lucky Girl include new comers and favorites such as Serayah, Empire, Malik Yoba, Empire and Why Did I Get Married, Ella Joyce, Roc and Set it Off, and Gary Anthony Sturgis, Daddy’s Little Girl and Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
The movie chronicles new bride Selena, Letoya Luckett on her journey to the alter. As she prepares to get married on Christmas Eve, a group of her closest college friends descend upon her mother luxurious home for her upcoming rehearsal dinner. Selena must now play the role of friend, referee, and psychiatrist. Added to this tumultuous mix is her fiancé, Darnell, Columbus Short and his parents.
As Selena tries to make the best of things, she seeks counsel from a mysterious blast from her past, which seems to be just what Selena needs, but all is not what it appears to be. Much melee and craziness ensues as the families intertwine and Selena comes to a crossroad.
The music is a welcome accompaniment to the movie. It lifts you up and pulls you into each scene; making the soundtrack an intricate and exciting part of the viewing experience.
With Kenneth Hampton and Larry B. Bachman at the helm of the label, Raise Em Up Records is making a name for themselves as the go to label for soundtracks. There gift for bringing together an eclectic mixture of artist and musicians and blending their sounds to create a body of music that can be enjoyed by all, while taking listeners on a journey that encompasses the movie and its characters is amazing.
