*Donald Trump may claim to have “the world’s greatest memory,” but he’s apparently short on remembering time he’s spent with one sports world’s greatest Muslim athletes.
Especially since he’s come out against President Barack Obama’s recent speech regarding how Americans should not discriminate against Muslims, despite terrorist acts from those affiliated with ISIS.
“Muslim Americans are our friends and our neighbors; our co-workers, our sports heroes — and, yes, they are our men and women in uniform,” Obama said Sunday while sharing his strategy for defeating ISIS.
Reacting to the president’s speech, Trump took to Twitter as he blasted Obama for not mentioning that America was “at war with radical Islamic terrorists,” and asked whether the president was “profiling” when he said some of the nation’s sporting greats were Muslim.
Obama said in his speech that Muslims are our sports heroes. What sport is he talking about, and who? Is Obama profiling?

Taking notice of Trump’s comments, Twitter users quickly made it known to the Republican presidential frontrunner that his memory is not what it used to be.

Turns out, Trump is very familiar with Muslim sports heroes as Muhammad Ali, a man he has interacted with many times over the years, presented the real estate mogul with a Muhammad Ali Award in 2007. In addition, Trump proudly put his interaction with the boxing legend on display with a “Throw Back Thursday” photo on Facebook of him posing with Ali, whom he tagged in the post and described as a friend.

Ali is among a slew of Muslim sports greats Trump had no memory of. Considering how familiar he is with Ali’s fellow Muslim, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and the beef he had with him in September over an essay Jabbar wrote that criticized his “absurd, uninformed or just plain incorrect” statements, Trump should have a full recollection.
Nevertheless, the politician was a blank on Jabbar, Ali and other Muslim-American athletes such as Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Larry Johnson, Mike Tyson and Bernard Hopkins.
