The 15-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has just released a surprise album called “Ardipithecus” on Roc Nation. It’s her debut full-length album, following a string of singles and EPs that began with her 2011 hit “Whip My Hair.”

According to Billboard, the majority of the album was written and produced by Willow, though her older brother Trey Smith (who appears as AcE) and JABS also appear in the credits.

“Ardipithecus Ramidus is the scientific name of the first hominid bones found on earth,” Smith told The Fader in a statement. “I wanted to name my musical compilation after it because while I was making these songs I was in such a transitional state. Digging deep in the soil of my heart and finding bits and pieces of my ancient self that tell stories, which end up being the lyrics to the songs.”
