*Adam “Pacman” Jones was not a happy camper following the Cincinnati Bengals’ loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC wild card game Saturday night.
And he wasn’t shy about blasting who he thought was responsible after the game on social media. In Jones’ eyes, it was the referees who are to blame for the Bengals losing the game 18-16. As a result of the loss, the Steelers advanced in the playoffs to face the Denver Broncos next Sunday.
According to reports, the refs flagged the Bengals’ defensive back for unsportsmanlike conduct after Steelers coach Joey Porter ran out onto the field. The move proved damaging as the Steelers gained another 15 yards to score a field goal to win the game.
“F***ing ref did a horrible f***ing job!” he ranted. “You got f***ing Joey Porter in the middle of the f***ing field talking sh*t to everybody and then when somebody say something to him… he don’t even supposed to be on the f***ing field!” an angry Jones wrote on Twitter after posted a video capturing his heated reaction to how the refs officiated.
Prior to losing, the Bengals had the upper hand in the game as they came back from being down 15-0 in the third quarter to score 16 straight points to take a 16-15 lead with a minute and a half left on the clock.
From there, things changed for the worse as the refs flagged Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict for delivering a vicious hit on Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown in the fourth quarter. The refs’ actions with Burfict resulted in the Steeler getting 15 yards before they got Jones for unsportsmanlike conduct.
