The comedian now looks to have health problems on top of his legal issues. The Daily Mail reports that Cosby is suffering from keratoconus, a condition that causes the thinning of the cornea.

Once the thinning of the domed-shaped cornea occurs, the eyes begin to bulge to a cone shape, leading to “blurring, ghosting, multiple images, starbursts and glaring.”

Evidence of the condition is found in the mug shot Cosby took after he was taken into custody on Dec. 30. In the picture, the clouding of Cosby’s right eye is visible.

During an appearance on “CBS This Morning,” the entertainer’s attorney, Monica Pressley, referenced her client’s current health status, calling Cosby a “blind man.”

“He’s a 78-year-old blind man who they’ve chosen to charge, that’s not a defense to a charge, that’s just a fact,” Pressley said.

According to the Daily Mail, it is unclear when Cosby was diagnosed with keratoconus. The funnyman’s health was mentioned during his defamation lawsuit against supermodel Beverly Johnson as it referred to Cosby as “legally and functionally blind.”

“Mr. Cosby has suffered from a degenerative eye condition for years which has steadily worsened recently to the point that he is for over a year has been legally and functionally blind,” the lawsuit stated.

Johnson is one of more than 50 women who have accused Cosby of sexual assault and drugging them. Last week, Cosby was charged with aggravated indecent assault. He faces up to 10 years behind bars.
