*Although the jury of public opinion on Bill Cosby is mixed, the embattled funnyman’s lawyer Monique Pressley is making a noticeably positive impression on those interviewing her about the case against her famous client.

Try a recent appearance on The Tom Joyner Morning Show, where host Tom Joyner was left giving Pressley her props after chatting with her.
“You know, Monique Pressley, I never heard of you before this, but just listening to you just now, I think Bill Cosby has chosen a very good attorney because you broke that down,” said the Fly Jock.
Joyner isn’t the only person impressed by Pressley. Lolita Buckner Inniss, a former prosecutor, notes how Pressley’s gender and race have factored into her being chosen to represent Cosby, who is accused of sexual assault and drugging dozens of (white) women.
“Her gender and her race matter, because Bill Cosby is being charged with sexual assault of several women. A large number of those women are white women. I think there’s a certain extent to which the idea of racial solidarity plays in here,” Inniss told The Grio. “The idea that if an intelligent, well-spoken black woman stands with Bill Cosby on this, then perhaps some of those people who accuse Bill Cosby are lying.”
Pressley’s no nonsense attitude also comes into play as Chris Stewart, an Atlanta-based attorney pointed out that her skill as a lawyer is only part of what makes her stand out when being interviewed on the small screen.
“Who you are seeing on television is exactly who she is, said Stewart. “She will talk to you the way she talks in those interviews: Firm. She’s not going to play around. She’s not going to let somebody misquote her or misquote her client. And you better memorize everything, because she already has.”
