Even Jada Pinkett Smith is Suggesting an Oscars Boycott

*Earlier this week folks were reminded that members the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Oscars either somehow managed to NOT get the memo about being sensitive to diversity or they just don’t give a sh*t.

For the 2nd year in a row, the organization didn’t nominate a single black actor or director an Oscar. One of the blatant snubs was that of Will Smith for his lead role in “Concussion.”

That was enough for actress Jada Pinkett Smith, 44, to go on the offensive and tell the world how she feels about the Academy’s bias.

Saturday she tweeted:

“At the Oscars…people of color are always welcomed to give out awards…even entertain.” But then she questions, “But we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments. Should people of color refrain from participating all together?”

Yes Jada, that is the question. Check out her tweets below.

Another celebrity of note, Chris Rock, who just happens to be this year’s Oscar host, also referenced the lack of diversity on Twitter. The funnyman posted a 15-second promo clip on Friday (01-15-16) with the caption, “The #Oscars. The White BET Awards.”

The Academy Awards will air on February 28 at 7pm Eastern on ABC.
