*From the “are you friggin’ serious?!” department comes this crazy azz story about Cam Newton.
Up in Seattle, an obviously shall we say, disheartened Seahawks fan, is proposing that the Carolina Panthers’ star quarterback be BANNED from Century Link Field!
If you follow pro football you know that Carolina defeated Seattle there in Week 6 and again in Charlotte in the divisional round of the playoffs. We can only conclude this fan must want to prevent him from playing because it would give the Seahawks a better chance to win, right? Nope. The reason is much dumber than that.
“Cam Newton is one of the most unprofessional, unsportsmanlike individual (sic) on the face of the planet,” the petition reads. “So I say for the 2016-2017 (season) when the Panthers come to play in Seattle he should be banned from entering the stadium. This should teach him to put his arrogance in check!!”
Yeah, that’ll do it. That’ll humble him. And of course the NFL will go along with that. Oh yeah, according to Sporting News, as of 11pm Eastern Monday evening, the petition had been signed by about 350 people.
However, it probably wouldn’t surprise you to know that a lot of Panthers fans invaded the comments section to support Newton.
Apparently this Seahawks supporter is still upset over Newton tossing the “12th Man” Seattle flag after the Panthers advanced to the NFC championship game.
The Cam hater is also no doubt pissed that Newton and the Panthers – and NOT the Seahawks – will be playing in Super Bowl 50 against the Denver Broncos on Feb. 7.
