*Sunday night (01-10-16) at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, actors Taraji P. Henson and Denzel Washington were honored awarded.
Henson won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Drama Golden Globe for her role as Cookie Lyon on “Empire.”
If you didn’t see the show, you missed her handing out cookies on her walk to the stage to accept her award.
“Cookies for everyone tonight,” she said. “My treat.”
Yep, she was in full Cookie mode as folks found out when she was prompted to wrap up her speech … she warned “You’re going to have to wait.” She went on to thank her family, longtime agent and publicist, show producers and co-workers, leaving Terrence Howard for last by saying she was nothing without him and adding that Cookie is nothing without Lucious.
Appropriately enough, Taraji passed out cookies while coming to the stage to accept her best actress award in a drama. That’s the name of her character, the ex-convict matriarch in Fox’s sensation “Empire.”
Interestingly Henson’s sarcastic tone was noticeable when she acknowledged her award came as the result of playing an ex-con.
