*Andre 3000 popped up unexpectedly on his ex Erykah Badu’s November mixtape, “But You Caint Use My Phone.”

According to Billboard, the OutKast member said their duet came about after he and his son, Seven (the eldest of Badu’s three children), discovered The Isley Brothers’ 70s cover of Todd Rundgren’s “Hello, It’s Me” which also happened to go along with the telephone theme of Badu’s mixtape.

“Ron Isley repeats the phrase ‘hello, hello’ as if he was answering the phone. I told Erykah, ‘You should make this into a new song and get somebody to rap on it,’” he said. “She was like, ‘Well, you should rap on it!’ I’m happy it happened. It was a great reunion, because I don’t think people have heard a song from us in ages.”

‘Dré is also busy adding to his growing list of acting credits with a starring role in the second season of the ABC drama, “American Crime.”
