*Folks really believe it was an “accident” that Sylvester Stallone forgot to acknowledge the two black men responsible for resurrecting his “Rocky” franchise during his acceptance speech at Sunday’s Golden Globes?

How do you forget to thank those who put you back in the spotlight?

While “Creed” director Ryan Coogler believes it was an honest mistake, this writer is not buying it. If the backlash wasn’t swift and justified, Stallone probably wouldn’t have taken to Twitter to apologize to Coogler and the film’s star, Michael B. Jordan, for failing for mention them after winning best supporting actor for his role in the movie.

Coogler says Stallone was emotionally overwhelmed by the standing ovation he received, adding: “I was there and I know how Sly feels about us.”

Stallone apparently ran back onstage at the 2016 Golden Globes and thanked Coogler and Jordan. He even responded to a Tweet actor Samuel L. Jackson posted about the blunder.

“Samuel Jackson is upset that I foolishly forgot to mention the brilliant Ryan Coogler and MB Jordan he is right I owe them everything,” Sly posted.

“He rushed back and basically stopped the music and told the whole band to stop and went on and on about us to the point where it was uncomfortable,” Coogler joked Wednesday. “I love the guy and definitely don’t think it was intentional at all. He has already thanked us so much.”

“Sly is an awesome dude,” he added.

Ryan CooglerMeanwhile, as the industry continues to buzz that “Creed” could be a contender for Oscar nominations in more than one top category, Coogler and his fiancée Zinzi Evans are Hollywood’s new hot couple to watch this awards season. The couple have yet to set a date for their wedding, and that may be because Ryan will be committed to Marvel’s “Black Panther” for the next two years.

Hey U Guys recently sat down with the director and asked how he feels about his new ‘Panther’ gig.

“I’m excited. I grew very into pop culture, very into comic books, so it’s something that is just as personal to me as the last couple of films I was able to make. I feel really fortunate to be able to work on something I’m this passionate about again,” Ryan said.
