Sheree Whitfield & Sherri Shepherd Talk ‘RHOA,’ Kenya and Nene

Sherri-Shepherd-and-Sheree-Whitfield*Sunday night (Jan. 10) proved to be filled with good nuggets of information on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” as Sheree Whitfield and former “The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd graced the show with their presence.

Among the topics up for discussion included Whitfield’s return to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” as well as Kenya Moore, whom both ladies had an opinion on.

Regarding her reemergence on “RHOA,” Whitfield revealed that she was dealing with personal issues (divorce, child support) during the first seasons of the popular reality show.

“Being away I was able to work on myself and my kids and felt like now was a good time to return,” she told host Andy Cohen while expressing how much she missed her fellow “RHOA” castmates.

As for Moore, Whitfield didn’t throw any shade at her, but she did state that while she doesn’t consider Moore a friend per say, she is playing the cards she’s dealt.

“I don’t want to use the word ‘friend’ too loosely, so I would say keeping my enemies close,” Whitfield said as she touched on the infamous altercation that went down with Moore and Tammy McCall Browning’s nephew, Glen Rice Jr.

“I was not expecting that. It got out of control quickly.” Whitfield said about what happened the day Rice pushed Browning to the ground as he was escorted off the property upon getting into it with Moore. As a result of the incident, Browning ended up being taken away in an ambulance.

“I thought that guy was a little bit aggressive with the ladies,” Shepherd stated. “That was one time I sided with Kenya. He needed to leave.”

For her part, Whitfield said she or any of the women didn’t “feel threatened” by Moore and Rice. “Actually, they [Kenya and Glen] were going back and forth in a playful banter, almost like flirty for a little while, so it was really weird,” she said.

Adding to Whitfield’s feelings on Moore, Shepherd voiced her thoughts on the former beauty queen after their social media feud on Twitter. In Shepherd’s eyes, the situation is chalked up to not being on the same page during that time.

“I admire Kenya and I respect her,” she told Cohen. I think that we just didn’t gel, but I wish Kenya the best.”

Now that the “RHOA” business was out the way, the conversation turned to “The View” as Shepherd addressed the drama of the show’s former “Housewife” Nene Leakes calling the ladies occupying the daytime talk show, “catty.”

“I think Nene [Leakes] and Joy need to be the new WWE Divas,” Sherri said while referencing “View” co-host Joy Behar and something of a backstory between Leakes and Behar’s fellow co-host Raven-Symoné. “I thought that Raven was really nice but there’s a back story with Nene and Raven before they even got to the table.”

Staying on Symone, Shepherd spoke on the online petition that called for her removal from “The View.”

“I think that just bolstered Raven being at the table,” said Shepherd. “That made people talk about ‘The View.’ And Raven’s a sweetheart. I would actually like to see Raven in another sitcom because she’s so funny. I think that’s where her talent lies.”
