Stacey Dash Goes in Again: ‘BET Lies to American Black People’

*Just when you thought Stacey Dash couldn’t possibly get any more “out there,” that’s exactly where she went.

Dash is doubling down on her critique of BET after the network’s response to her suggestion that Black History Month and the BET network itself should be eliminated if equality and integration are ever to be achieved.

She made hercontroversial comments as she addressed the #OscarsSoWhite controversy during a visit to “Fox & Friends” Wednesday (01-20-16) morning. She said it was “ludicrous” to have channels like BET and the BET Awards “if we don’t want segregation.”

But guess what? In spite of the pushback that she got regarding her views from BET and other notable personalities such as the cast of “The View,” Dash is still justifying her stance.

“Ever since I said THIS on Fox yesterday, Black Entertainment Television has been throwing shade,” Dash wrote on her blog. “They reminded me — and the rest of America — that I appeared on a show called The Game, which appeared on BET,” she went on.

“Well, here’s the thing. Thank you for reminding me, since most people have never heard of that show. Why? It’s on BET. Quick. Name the top shows on BET. Drawing a blank? I think I’ve made my point,” she continued.

Dash then went on to criticize BET exec Stephen Hill, who called out the Oscar nominations for not representing the ethnicities of moviegoers.

“Wow. Apparently, Mr. Hill doesn’t understand what an Oscar is,” she wrote. “Oscars are awarded to the actors and actresses who excel… not the audience. What’s next? Awarding $1 million to the guy sitting in his pajamas on the couch watching Survivor?”

Huh? What?

“My problem goes back to the notion that every area of life needs to break down exactly according to demographic ratios except in those areas in which black people have decided they want to have their own space,” she said, citing hip-hop and jazz as such arenas.

“BET lies to American black people,” she ended, strongly, “by telling them that the rest of America is racist, so stick close to your own kind. Anything that promotes segregation is bad!”

As SiriusXM talk show host Joe Madison would say, quoting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., this is “sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity” at it’s best.
