*Queen Latifah teamed with Lionsgate’s Codeblack Films for the romantic comedy ‘The Perfect Match,’ starring Terrence J, Cassie Ventura, Lauren London, French Montana, Brandy, Draya Michele, Robin Givens, Dascha Polanco, Kali Hawk, Donald Faison, Casper Smart, Timothy Delaghetto and Joe Pantoliano.

The studio provided the following synopsis of the film in a press release:
“Charlie (Terrence J) is a bachelor who’s convinced that relationships are dead even though his sister (Paula Patton), a therapist, tries to tell him otherwise. His best friends bet him that if he sticks to one woman for one month, he’s bound to fall in love. An unconvinced Charlie takes the bet because he believes that he’s immune to love… until he crosses paths with the beautiful and mysterious Eva (Cassie Ventura). Charlie is sure that he will win the bet and prove his friends and sister wrong, so he rises to the occasion and takes on the challenge. Turning on his irresistible charm, Charlie coaxes Eva into a casual affair, but soon finds out that Eva has turned the tables on him. Unsure of what to think or how to feel, he finds himself trying to navigate in a foreign territory. Now, Charlie is left questioning whether he may actually want more than just a one-night stand.”
Terrence J and Paula Patton serve as producers on the project, along with Queen Latifah/Flavor Unit. This is the first major gig for Terrence since he left E! News late last year. It also marks Cassie’s return to the big screen after appearing in 2008’s ‘Step Up 2: The Streets.’
Terrence is best known as the host of BET’s music countdown show ‘106 & Park’ from 2006 until 2012. His big screen credits include, Tim Story’s film ‘Think Like A Man’ (based on Steve Harvey’s bestseller), ‘Stomp the Yard,’ ‘Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming,’ and he appeared in the Christina Aguilera and Cher film ‘Burlesque’ as Dave the D.J.
‘The Perfect Match’ is set for release on March 11.
