*In the iconic “Thriller” video, Michael Jackson innocently proclaimed that he wasn’t like all the other guys.
Well, neither is Jaden Smith, the 17-year-old son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Jaden, if you haven’t heard, is doing his fashion thing and taking his daring approach to fashion to Louis Vuitton.
Young Mr. Smith has just been named as the newest face of the iconic fashion label’s Spring/Summer 2016 womenswear campaign.
Via Instagram posts by the brand’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, you can see what they have in mind for Jaden. The photo shoot – featuring the youngster in pieces from Louis Vuitton’s women’s collection – debuted at Paris Fashion Week.
Smith’s interesting choices in dress (no pun intended), have been fodder for conversation ever since he was first seen rocking a dress back in April. He has also worn a dress to prom, as well as a Batman costume to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding. So yes, dude doesn’t have a problem expressing his feminine side, apparently.
In an interview with GQ, Smith discussed the motivations behind his fashion choices, marking them as a form of expression.
“I’m just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because every day it changes how I feel about the world and myself, but I like wearing super drapey things so I can feel as though I’m a super hero, but don’t have to necessarily wear super hero costumes every day.”
Whatever, young man, whatever.
