*“Scandal” star Scott Foley is behind his boss Shonda Rhimes’ first comedy series ordered by ABC.

“Toast,” written by Foley and fellow actor Greg Grunberg, is described as a “hybrid comedy” that takes place over the course of a wedding rehearsal dinner for Max and Page. As family and friends deliver anecdotes about the happy couple during toasts, flashbacks reveal the toasters don’t always get it right, as the show follows the real story of their road to marriage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Foley and Grunberg came up with the story, with Foley penning the teleplay.

Shondaland’s Rhimes and Betsy Beers will serve as executive producers on “Toast,” which becomes the company’s second pilot order this season (joins ABC’s Romeo and Juliet follow-up “Still Star-Crossed”) and first comedy pilot to get an order after multiple attempts, according to THR.
