Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry Mingle with Pres. Obama

barack obama and stephen curry*The Golden State Warriors got the most out of a recent visit to the White House as they mingled with President Barack Obama and young men taking part in the White House’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative.

Media sources report the occasion was made possible as the Warriors and its all-star point guard Stephen Curry journeyed to the White House to commemorate their 2015 NBA Championship.

The team defeated LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to capture the championship. The accomplishment made history as it marked the Warriors first NBA title in 40 years.

During his White House visit, Curry took full advantage of the moment as he took over the White House Instagram account and posted pictures capturing his experience.

“Hey, guys! Steph Curry here at the White House. I’m taking over the account today to give you a look at our visit with President Obama. Follow along — and don’t miss Draymond Green on the “WhiteHouse” Snapchat. –Steph,” Curry wrote as he took time out to mingle with a few of the My Brother’s Keeper mentees.

These talented young men can do anything they put their minds to. The future is bright. –Steph”

Launched in 2014, the My Brother’s Keeper initiative is noted for a call for leaders to help improve educational and professional opportunities for young men of color.

Through his Instagram commentary, Curry revealed that he was at the White House to film a PSA with Obama on behalf of My Brother’s Keeper.

“Filming a special #MyBrothersKeeper PSA with the President,” the athlete stated while advocating for others to become a positive influence through serving as a mentor. “I’d encourage anyone who wants to give back to sign up to be a mentor at Serve.gov/mentor. –Steph,” he said acknowledging the significance of the White House trip to the Dub Nation.

“#DubNation – the moment we’ve been waiting for! –Steph”
