Luenell Tells of Being Molested; Calls Cosby’s Rape Scandal ‘Lies’

Luenell Campbell*Actress/comedian Luenell Campbell chatted with VladTV about Bill Cosby’s ongoing sex scandal, along with her own experiences with molestation and sexual abuse at the hands of her father. Last summer, Luenell became a hot topic with Black Twitter after she uploaded a photograph of her and Cosby and it triggered both laughter and outrage.

“Me and Bill flew on a flight to Las Vegas together and I felt like I was sitting next to my father – who molested me as well by the way, oops – so, I didn’t see anything wrong with making that one little post and I still don’t,” Luenell told DJ Vlad. The site notes that the photo “became her most well-received post, and while many found it funny – given her career as a comedian – others were not so thrilled.”

Cosby has been accused by nearly 60 women of either rape, drug facilitated sexual assault, sexual battery, child sexual abuse, and/or sexual misconduct. The dates of the alleged incidents span from 1965 to 2008 across 10 U.S. states and one Canadian province. Cosby has maintained his innocence and repeatedly denied the allegations, and Luenell is the latest celebrity to publicly support America’s fallen TV dad.

“I don’t know 40 women that can keep a secret like that for 30 years. Even if you tell your friend, your friend might tell a friend – it should’ve leaked out.” Despite the fact some allegations were revealed some years ago “we live in a world where money can buy anything – even 40 lies,” Luenell concluded.

Campbell also revealed that when she reached junior high, she was raped by three White boys, and one of them happened to live across the street from her family’s home.

“Not to say that it was justified what they did, but I cut school, I went with the boys,” Luenell expressed. “I always hang out with boys, I have four brothers – some of them took advantage as well.”

We happen to co-sign with the following response from a reader to Luenell’s sex abuse revelation:

“I would think a little girl getting molested by her own father, brothers, and two white boys all in the span of the same couple years would leave her broken and mentally unstable for the rest of her life. The fact she went on to remain so level headed and  see success regardless is pretty impressive.”
