*17-year-old Atlanta MC Miss Mulatto was crowned the season 1 winner of Lifetime’s “The Rap Game,” a competition show executive produced by Jermaine Dupri and Queen Latifah – which was cable’s #1 series on Friday’s at 10pm. Following her win, Miss Mulatto dropped a snippet of her new single “No More Talking,” a tease from her forthcoming EP.

In the finale, the rappers performed in a live rap battle in front of influential music industry insiders and players. After eight weeks in “hip hop bootcamp” Miss Mulatto came out on top, “applying the lessons she learned from Dupri and this season’s special guests, including Usher, Ludacris, Da Brat, T.I. and Silentó,” per Shadow and Act. She beat out fellow Atlantan Supa Peach, Houston’s Young Lyric, Brockton, Mass.’s Lil Poopy and San Diego’s Lil Niqo.

Her prize for winning was a record deal with So So Def Records. JD stated, “I’m happy to crown a fellow ATLien and huge talent with the crown for Season 1. It was a grueling process and I’m proud to welcome Miss Mulatto to the So So Def family.”

Miss Mulatto was born to a white mother and black father, so her stage name comes from what was considered an insult for a mixed-race person. She has two million YouTube views to date, and her winning song, “No More Talking,” is currently available for purchase on iTunes. Below, you can check out her new video for the track, “Broken Record Player.”

“When I introduced this, THEY told me it wasn’t gonna work, didn’t nobody wanna watch kid rappers,” Dupri told HipHopDX.

Season two of “The Rap Game” will debut this summer and “The Rap Game Reunion Special,” airs 10 p.m. Friday, February 26 on Lifetime.
