*The Academy Award‘s attempt at satire about African Americans missing from the award show may have went too far.
In the shocking early moments of the Academy Awards the creators portrayed an African American woman as the bear that attacks Leonardo DiCaprio in the Revenant, evoking images of blacks as animals.
This was followed by having Stacey Dash come out as the Director of their Minority Outreach program. A appearance that left silence among the audience, after many of her off color comments about blacks on Fox News.
This comes after her prior statements on Fox: “There shouldn’t be a black history month, … We’re Americans. Period.”
All in all this Oscars may have lived up to the accusations levied by #Oscarsowhite.
