*106-year-old Virginia McLaurin went viral last month when she got her wish to meet Barack and Michelle Obama, and now she’s stealing our hearts once more with her dancing – and basketball skills – at a session with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Players Moose Weekes and Zeus McClurkin visited Roots Public Charter School in Washington D.C. where McLaurin volunteers. The duo presented the centenarian with her own No. 107 jersey and donated 107 tickets for students at the school to attend an upcoming game, per The Washington Post. After the publication shared Virginia’s backstory, the Globetrotters inquired about how they could meet her too.
During the visit, Weekes and McClurkin danced with McLaurin, tossed a basketball with her and taught her to spin it on her finger. In the clip below, she doles out some life advice to the youth before being presented with the a jersey with her last name and the number 10. The players also donated 107 tickets for Roots students to come see them play while the team is in Washington this weekend.

McLaurin met President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at a Black History Month reception at the White House last month, and many people have been so inspired by her vivacious spirit, that they have inquired about helping her financially. Her close friend and her son set up a fundraising page in hope of raising enough that will allow Virginia to move out of her shabby apartment and into a new home. The page has raised a little more than $27,000.
The Harlem Globetrotters combine athleticism, theater, and comedy on their more than 26,000 exhibition games in 122 countries and territories. Today, there are at least three different Harlem Globetrotters teams touring the United States.
