*Brandy has filed a lawsuit against her record label Chameleon Entertainment Group, claiming execs have blocked her from recording new music.

The singer and star of BET’s “Zoe Ever After” hasn’t released a new album since 2012’s “Two Eleven.”

According to the Rolling Stone, Brandy filed the suit on Tuesday, claiming that her deal with Chameleon gave the label the option of releasing four more albums, but alleging that they have kept her from recording new material in the last four years.

She also claims that the label’s refusal to let her record music is in an attempt to get her to sign on to a new recording deal. According to the lawsuit, Brandy has dissolved her contract with Chameleon, but wants a judge’s ruling that it is void.

Brandy began her career in 1993 with Atlantic Records, where she remained for 11 years and released four albums. In 2004, she requested and received an unconditional release from the label, citing a desire to “move on.”

Brandy’s search for a new label was stalled when she was involved in a fatal car accident in 2006 when her vehicle struck that of Awatef Aboudihaj, who died from her injuries the next day. Brandy was cleared of all charges.

In 2008, the singer signed to Epic Records and released the album “Human,” but that contract was abruptly terminated in 2009, as was her management contract with Roc Nation. No further details on those relationships were revealed.

Since the release of “Two Eleven” on Chameleon/RCA, Brandy has focused more on acting, appearing on the CW’s “90210,” BET’s “The Game” and Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva.” Last year, she appeared in the Broadway production of Chicago as Roxie Hart.
