Edi Gathegi to Star in Planned Spinoff of NBC’s ‘The Blacklist’

*Edi Gathegi, a recurring on NBC’s “The Blacklist” this season, will become one of the stars of its proposed spinoff, according to Deadline.

Gathegi will be a series regular opposite Famke Janssen and Ryan Eggold if the spinoff goes to series, reprising his role as Matias Solomon, a Cabal operative sent to hunt down Reddington.

Episode 322 of “The Blacklist,” which airs on May 12, will double as the spinoff’s pilot. Janssen will make her “Blacklist” debut the prior week, in Episode 321, as Susan “Scottie” Halsted. No details are being provided on Janssen’s character or the storyline for the spinoff.

Meanwhile, Gathegi will continue as a series regular on the Crackle series “Start Up.”
