Murdered TyShawn Lee’s Father Faces Attempted Murder Charges

TyShawn Lee and father

*He might think of it as retribution, but I doubt it’s going to give him any pleasure once he’s behind bars.

I’m talking about Pierre Stokes, the 25-year old father of 9-year-old TyShawn Lee — the boy who was murdered on November 2, 2015. Police believe TyShawn was killed as a retaliatory act in light of his father’s  alleged gang lifestyle.

Tyshawn was a fourth grade student at Joplin Elementary School, when he was lured into an alley in the 8000 block of South Damen Avenue with the promise of being taken to a store, where he would be able to buy anything he wanted.

Instead, the little boy who always carried a basketball, was shot repeatedly once they reached the alley near his grandmother’s house. The basketball lay next to him.

Now TyShawn’s father has been charged with the attempted murder of three people in connection with the boy’s murder. And one of the victims is the girlfriend of a man charged in the boy’s murder.
