*Tamar Davis, an original member of Beyonce’s 1993 group Girls Tyme (of “Star Search” fame), has taken her singing dreams to NBC’s “The Voice” in hopes of solo superstardom.

Davis’ parents ended up withdrawing her from Girls Tyme, wanting her to focus more on her education and to experience a normal childhood. But she still went on to make a living as a singer.

The 35-year-old had unsuccessful auditions for “American Idol” and a revived run of “Star Search” in the early 2000s, but managed to become a backup singer for Prince.

And then Tyler Perry entered her life, putting her in several of his plays and films. It was Perry who encouraged her to give “The Voice” a try, and even accompanied her to Tuesday’s audition.

Tamar belted Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools” for her audition on “The Voice,” a performance that turned the chairs of Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera.

Of course, she is now Team Xtina.
