*Captain America: Civil War is expected to haul massive amounts of coin when it hits theaters next month.

“One of the biggest openings of any Marvel Comics film in history,” predicts Variety of the film’s May 6 premiere weekend, figuring the numbers will fall somewhere between $175 million and $180 million.

If it manages to break north of $200 million in its opening box office, “Civil War” will join just three other films in that rarified air: “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Jurassic World” and the first “Avengers.”

By comparison, the last two “Captain America” films earned $65.1 million and $95 million, respectively in its opening weekend. “Civil War” is different because the Avengers are in the building, and Steve Rogers is facing off against Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.

Also, “Civil War” gives audiences its first look at the new Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).

Finally…T’Challa/Black Panther.

T’Challa is technically Team Iron Man, but not necessarily on Tony Stark’s side (or anyone’s side) in the war with Captain America. At the film’s recent press junket, director Kevin Feige said the movie needed an “undecided voter” character to offer a fresh perspective on the conflict.

“We wanted somebody who perhaps was invested but didn’t have allegiances to any one side, who was essentially in it for very personal reasons, himself,” Feige explained. “We knew we wanted to make a Black Panther movie at some point. But at that time we weren’t sure exactly when that would be. But as these discussions were going on, I thought, ‘We’re going to bring Black Panther into this movie.’”

Below, Feige explains how they decided to cast Chadwick Boseman in the role:

“Captain America: Civil War” opens on May 6.
