damon-dash*Damon Dash isn’t one to open up easily about personal situations, but the Roc-a-Fella Records co-founder did just that when discussing the affect the deaths of his girlfriend, the late singer Aaliyah, and mother had on him.

In a new episode of “Family Therapy With Dr. Jenn,” Dash gets personal while trying his best to express just how important Aaliyah was to him. According to the music mogul, things the loss of Aaliyah and his mother turned him into an “animal.”

“Everything that scares me is losing people I love and everything that I’ve really loved, as it relates to females, I’ve lost,” Dash shares with Dr. Jenn during the episode.

From there, Dash becomes more reflective while admitting that it’s hard for him to be compassionate and open up because of what had happened in his past.

Dash’s confession comes years after he and Aaliyah were an item before she died from a plane crash in The Bahamas on Aug. 25, 2001. Despite not being officially engage, Dash has mentioned that he and Aaliyah had planned to marry.
