*Johnny Britt is returning to Chicago this Saturday (04-09-16) to perform at Reggies on State St. where he will premier songs from his new album “Marvin Meets Miles.”
Britt will have the pleasure and distinction of being introduced by his good friend, actor Leon Robinson (“The Five Heartbeats”).
Having lived in Chicago for 20 years and partaking in the soulful musical stew that only Chicago has to offer, vocalist and trumpeter Johnny Britt will share an evening of original and classic songs inspired by two of his greatest musical muses, Miles Davis and Marvin Gaye.

Having entertained audiences all over the world with such luminaries as The Temptations, Maxwell, Josh Groban, Impromp2, Little Anthony also making appearances with the likes of John Legend, Common, Herbie Hancock, Annie Lennox and many others, Britt brings his own rich musical heritage to the forefront in this evening of music which poses the question “What if Marvin Gaye and Miles Davis spent an evening making music together?”
“I was always intrigued by how Miles could play so lyrically and phrase just like a singer. Then when I heard Marvin’s trumpet-like vocalese I began to understand how both of these great artists expressed a musical spirit near and dear to my own,” says Britt.
