*Rick Ross is usually the center of attention when it comes to his music, but the Maybach Music Group MC was noticed in a different way over the weekend at the White House.
TMZ reports that Ross’ ankle bracelet went off unexpectedly while being on hand to support President Barack Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative. Others who attended the event, which found Ross wearing a suit, included rappers Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, J. Cole and Wale as well as hit making producer and radio personality DJ Khaled.
Initiatiated in 2014, My Brother’s Keeper is a national call to action to address persistent opportunity gaps facing boys and young men of color. The motivation for the effort is to ensure all youth reach their full potential.
Sources on the scene revealed that Ross’ ankle bracelet beeped loudly after Obama finished speaking at the event, surprising the “B.M. F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” rhymesayer. The ankle, which Ross has to wear as a condition of release related to a case involving kidnapping and assault, was covered by the suit the rapper was wearing.
While Ross was making his presence known at the White House, another rapper, this one named Desiigner, generated talk in a different and more graphic way while performing his hit song “Panda” in New York City on Saturday night.
According to reports, the rhymer was totally in his professional element as he threw up on stage right in the middle of his show and continued on with no pause.
