Shereé Whitfield On Marrying Ex, Cynthia Bailey ‘Ok’ After Separation

Sheree-Cynthia*Shereé Whitfield and her ex husband, former NFLer Bob Whitfield have left fans bemused after getting cozy this season on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The “Will They? Won’t They? get married again” question remains to be seen, and they’re keeping fans guessing by continuing with the PDA.

During a recent appearance on ESSENCE Live, Sheree opened up about what’s really going on between her and her estranged ex-husband.

“My oldest daughter had a birthday party at a bowling alley and we were actually around each other for the first time in a very long time and we actually had a good time hanging out and bowling,” said Whitfield. “Aside from that, we’d both matured. It was bitter and there was a lot of anger and a lot of hurt. At the end of the day I think we both realized with growth that that doesn’t matter. We need to put all of that aside and what’s important is our family and our kids.”

The couple officially divorced in 2007, and their bitter relationship was played out in the early seasons of ‘RHOA.’ Now folks are wondering if they plan to walk back down the aisle again now that time and maturity has healed old wounds and bringing them closer than ever before.

“I don’t know if I’ll marry Bob again, but I will say that I do believe in the institution of marriage and I’d never say never,” she adds. “I will say that he and I are learning each other all over again and we’re just in a really good place and having a good time.”

Meanwhile, Sheree’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Cynthia Bailey says she’s “doing okay” after she and husband Peter Thomas announced their separation. The two confirmed they are currently living in different states, with Bailey residing in Atlanta, and Thomas in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Cynthia stepped out in NYC recently to attend Daily Mail’s private show with Joe Jonas’ new band DNCE. She told “Extra,” “I’m taking time to myself trying to figure it all out trying to figure out what the next step is.”

Cynthia and Peter’s separation comes after five years of marriage, and on the heels a cheating scandal.

Bailey added, “I’m doing okay. Marriage is hard and when you have issues like the issues we’re having it’s not easy… but under the circumstances, I’m doing okay.”

Bailey also commented on news that “Facts of Life” star Kim Fields will not be returning for another season of “Housewives.” Cynthia said the first season is always hard, adding: “I had a great experience with her… Whatever she decides to do, I wish her well.”

Cynthia is confident that she stirred up enough mess to ensure her return next season: “I was in enough stuff this season, I can’t imagine, what would they do without me at this point, the love triangles, cheat tapes… I’ve kind of been in the center of a lot, I love being on the show.”
